Emirates Bankers’ Forum hosts the Director General of Dubai’s Department of Finance

The Emirates Bankers’ Forum, which is a monthly gathering organized by Mr. Sulaiman Al Mazroui, President, Emirates Bankers’ Forum, today hosted H.E. Abdulrahman Al Saleh, Director General of Dubai’s Department Of Finance. H.E. Abdulrahman Al Saleh presented a speech titled "Lessons from the Global Crisis". The event was attended by more than 80 senior banking professionals representing the local, regional and international financial institutions in the country.

Through his speech, H.E. Abdulrahman Al Saleh spoke about the global financial crisis and why we need to be cautious in our outlook, despite some signs of recovery. He also highlighted the role of the financial sector in driving the recovery as well as its role in avoiding future crises. Finally, he highlighted the fundamentals of Dubai which are very sound and position it to emerge stronger from the crisis.

Mr. Suleiman Al Mazroui said, “We are glad to receive H.E. Abdulrahman Al Saleh as our guest as he is one of the Financial Officials who are exerting their efforts to face the challenges of the global financial crisis. Through this Forum, I would like to express our trust in the capabilities and wisdom of our leadership to overcome the challenges that Dubai is passing through and we are committed to provide our support to these efforts. ”

The Emirates Bankers’ Forum is a monthly gathering which has evolved over the years to become a forum which provides an excellent networking experience and an opportunity to exchange views and expertise.
