Dear BankNet User,

Some users have recently reported receiving an email from the Emirates Bank Group/meBANK, claiming their Online Banking access is about to expire.

Please note, as a BankNet user, your access never expires.

The email provides links to two internet addresses. The second will display a screen which appears to be the meBANK login site and requests you to enter your userid and password. After login, it requests answers to two secret questions.

Please note, this email or site has no links with the Emirates Bank Group. The only time you will be asked for any confidential information such as answers to secret questions or your PIN number would be during processing of a transaction. You will never be asked for this information via an email or over the phone.

If you have acted upon this email, please contact our call centre on 316 0316 immediately.

For your added protection, you can check whether a particular website is certified by the Emirates Bank Group by taking the following steps:

  1. Right click anywhere on the login page.
  2. Select “properties”.
  3. Click on “Certificates”.
  4. The certificate will be issued to “LOGIN.BANKNETPOWER.NET”.

If no certificate is displayed, or an alternative certificate displayed, do not proceed. Contact our call centre on 316 0316 for assistance.

Yours sincerely

Graeme Steele
