Dear Customer,

In recent weeks there have been several news reports regarding fraudulent e-mails being sent to customers of major banks worldwide. Usually, these e-mails ask those banks' customers to click on to a link which takes them to a website which looks similar to the bank's own website. The customers are asked to input various details including usernames, passwords, ATM Card numbers/PINs and other personal details for security reasons. In some cases, clicking on the link downloads a Trojan (key logger) on to the customer's computer.

The real motive of this is to gain unauthorized access to accounts and commit fraudulent activities on these accounts.

We would like to alert you to such scams, which use email as the medium. Please be aware that Emirates Bank Group will never ask you for such personal details via e-mail. In addition, Emirates Bank will not ask you the following on e-mail:

  • Your ATM Card Number
  • Your ATM PIN
  • Your Internet banking Passwords
  • Your Internet Banking Secret Answers.

Periodically, we may send e-mails promoting our products, services and events, but such e-mails will never ask for any sensitive personal details.
Always go to the following websites to start your "secure" Internet Banking session:

  • If you are a meBANK account holder, type www.me.ae and click the "Online Banking" button on the middle of the page
  • If you are Emirates Bank account holder, go to www.emiratesbank.ae\BankNet and click on the "Internet Banking" link on the right hand side.

If you happen to receive any such suspicious e-mails:

  • Please DO NOT FOLLOW ANY OF THE INSTRUCTIONS THEREIN: DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINK and DELETE THE EMAIL immediately.
  • If you have clicked in the link in the email, perform a scan for possible viruses and Trojans using your virus protection software. Should you require further information, please contact your software vendor.
  • After you have completed a scan on your computer and cleaned it of all viruses and Trojans, immediately re-set your Internet Banking Password.
  • We recommend that you should always have up to-date anti-virus protection while using Internet Banking services.

Please contact our Customer Service Helpdesk on +971 4 3160316 in case you receive any such fraudulent emails.

Best wishes
