The Emirates Bankers' Forum organized by Mr. Sulaiman Al Mazroui, General Manager Corporate Communications and Community Relations at Emirates NBD, honored H.E. Dr. Omar bin Sulaiman, Governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) for his role in the development of the financial sector and for his support to the monthly bankers' gathering. The meeting, held in Dubai International Financial Centre, was attended by more than 80 senior executives from the banking, financial and business sectors.

Commenting on the significant role that H.E. Dr. Omar bin Sulaiman is playing in supporting the UAE Bankers' Forum, Mr. Sulaiman Al Mazroui  said:" This gathering is one of the means for us to stay connected with the banking sector, and we are pleased to gather here today to honor one of the leading players in the financial industry in the region. HE Dr. Omar also played a major role in supporting the UAE Bankers' forum through hosting its monthly meetings at the DIFC. The meeting has evolved over the years to become a forum which provides an excellent networking experience and an opportunity to exchange views and expertise. Also, as part of the continuous efforts to develop the forum, we will soon launch a yearly award."
HE Dr. Omar bin Sulaiman plays a leading role in the development of the region's international financial centre, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Druing the gathering, Dr. Christian Schiebl, Managing Director EMEA, SmartStream Technologies made a presentation about the company. SmartStream technologies is a leading enterprise software vendor focused on the middle and back offices of large financial institutions. It was acquired by DIFC Investments during 2007. The company has global presence with more than 420 staff in 14 countries.
